Reflection (Wk1 - Wk9)
I have learnt quite a lot of useful things since the second class of ES1102 (because I missed the first), it makes me feel more confident in writing argumentative essays, but I'm worried that these skills will start to fade away from my brain as soon as Ms Cook stop reminding us on the important things to look out for and giving us prompts for the assignments that we are doing.
I think I've improved on structure in essay writing. Previously, I just write what comes to my mind, without much editing. However, for the assignments in ES1102, we are allowed to submit multiple drafts. This gives me the opportunity to better reorganize and restructure my work. I also learnt to use the examples better, hence I think my content seems a lot better than before. Language-wise, I don't think I've improved much, it's just as bad as before, I'm still getting mistakes such as SVA.
I am quite a passive(but positive) towards the module, so I think whatever I'm going to be learning in week 10 to week 12 is going to help me in one way or another. So I have nothing to suggest on this part.
For the audiovisual feedback, I really liked it. It actually saves time for us students and make us feel important. On the other hand, I know that this create a lot more work for Ms Cook, so I really appreciate her effort and in a way, it makes me guilty when I did not submit my work by the dateline she gave us. The comments and suggestions on changes are clear and helpful, hence, I'm glad to make changes to my work based on the audiovisual feedback I received.
Looking ahead, as mentioned earlier, I just hope I can retain all the skills of essay writing skills that Ms Cook taught us.
